The strawberries look fabulous. They are getting red!! I shoved about 15-20 in my face today I was so excited. They should be ready by the weekend, but call or look at Facebook for the official go. (203 288 0700) THank god it finally got warm out, that is what is pushing the strawberries along, but we certainly did not need that rain yesterday. It was a bummer for the parade to honor Memorial Day to be cancelled.
George and the guys planted a ton of stuff this week because it finally dried out enough. We have Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Butternut and Acorn Squash, Spaghetti Squash and more corn planted this week. Lots of mud on the farm!
Our friends from Forida were here, and they said they never saw so much mud! We had some great food. I cooked Spinach Frittata and salad with fresh peas for lunch. Dinner was pork, roasted potatoes and of course Asparagus. It is so easy to cook now that there is so much great fresh stuff in the stand.
Save the date for the Strawberry Festival. June 18th. Glenwood will be there! More to come on that.
