George went to Nourse Farms in MA on Monday to pick up our strawberry plants. They are so tiny! You get 1000 in a box. We use an antiquated planter (been around longer than me probably) to plant, but it works! Those will be ready for next year. You pick off the blossoms, so the plant grows larger. This years strawberries are looking great. They started blosssoming last week. Probably start picking early June. We also planted the cut flowers, Asparagus and Rhubarb. Of course more corn and beans every week.
I started calling for the Strawberry Fest on June 18th. Robby from Glenwood is on board, so we will be treated to Glenwoods cooking again! Kelly from Kelly’s Kone Konnection will be making the Ice Cream. Yum.. We will be getting Brian the balloon animal making machine! (and Magician too). We will rent a Baseball Toss and Basketball Game as well. Of course the usual Strawberry shortcake!
Come visit at the stand. We have CSA cards. An $100.00 card for $90.00. No expiration. Lots of pretty plants, Asparagus, Spinach, and more. See you Liz
