It’s time to plant the peas!

George started planting today.  He planted shell peas and snap peas. Yumm!!  My dogs are psyched because when we are done picking they like to go in there and “Glean”  .  Even they know the sweetest veggies around.  We are on schedule, we planted peas in the same week as last year.  It is still so cold though! I hear it will be about 70 later this weekend.  Of course we will feel like were frying, not used to it.

We started to prune peaches we finished trimming the apples last week.  It looks like a great crop of fruit this year.  Not too much growth because of the hot dry summer last year.  That is good!  It is less work to shape the trees getting ready for the summer. I can not wait for some good fruits and veggies.  Although my husband Jerry canned peaches last summer, and I am still enjoying them with my yogurt. Talk to you soon, we will keep you updated.

Congrats on starting the blog Liz! See you soon. No CSA this year but we’ll be by regularly for fruits and veggies. I’m still finishing my frozen peaches too!
